Mid-term meeting for the Qompiler project

1 minute read

Last week, at the project meeting for the Qompiler project, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection and DLR Projektträger, we were able to present our current developments at the project meeting at Fraunhofer FOKUS to all project participants, representatives from BMWK and DLR Projektträger and our associated partners Quantum Brilliance, Berlin Partner für Wirtschaft und Technologie GmbH, Porsche Digital, T-Systems and DIN Deutsches Institut für Normung e. V..

Thanks to everyone who joined the Qompiler project meeting and made it such a nice event.

The presentations focused on the recently released quantum programming language Qrisp, together with a live demonstration, presented by Nazik Nese Cindik and Pau Dietz Romero, of how quantum programmes written in Qrisp are compiled for an ion-based quantum computer from eleQtron GmbH and can then be executed on it in the future via microwave signals.

In addition to the live demonstrations of the software, there were also exciting tech talks. Fabian Zickgraf from the University of Siegen, gave us an insight into how category theory is linked to functional programming and can be used to check type safety.

Dimitris Badounas from eleQtron GmbH presented the current developments and progress for building their ion-based quantum computer.

Raphael Seidel from Fraunhofer FOKUS concluded the session by presenting Uncomputation, garbage collection for quantum computers, so to speak, in the Qrisp framework.

We were very pleased to be able to present our current developments in person and want to thank all participants for the exciting presentations and the pleasant exchange!

We are very much looking forward to further collaboration and are excited about the developments we will make in the second half of the project.
